THE SEXIEST DESERT CAMOUFLAGE

The OPFOR DPM (Opposing Force Disruptive Pattern Material) is a specialised camouflage pattern used by British Forces for training exercises to simulate enemy forces. Unlike the standard British MTP, OPFOR DPM features a distinctive design based on 95 pattern DPM intended to visually differentiate opposing forces during training scenarios and by nature is almost unheard of by the public and most military enthusiasts.

OPFOR DPM employs a unique colour scheme with blue and black hues, contrasting with the green and brown tones of the OG DPM. This distinctive pattern helps in creating a clear visual distinction between friendly and enemy forces.

The primary use of OPFOR DPM is in training exercises, where it helps troops practice tactics and strategies against a simulated adversary. The camouflage provides a realistic representation of potential enemy uniforms in a controlled training environment.
The pattern includes disruptive elements that break up the wearer's silhouette, maintaining the core principles of camouflage while featuring a colour palette tailored for training scenarios.

Swag off the charts!

Warfare Media will soon be offering reproductions of the OPFOR DPM camouflage in two initial cuts:

  • G3 Combat Shirt (UBACS): The UBACS (Under Body Armor Combat Shirt) combines comfort and functionality, and will be offered in the OPFOR DPM pattern. The self wicking material of the torso is designed to be more cooling when worn under body armor.
  • G3 Cut Trousers: Known for their advanced design and durability, the Crye G3 Cut Trousers will now also be available in OPFOR DPM. These trousers offer high performance and comfort, using stretch panels and inbuilt kneepads. A garment truly tailored to the requirements of tactical training.
  • Other cuts: in the future WM may produce other garments or more production runs with this pattern, however no guarantees, if you need the baddie swag don't miss the opportunity.

Questions?

Blue?

Villains wear blue. Obviously, you never played bf4 nerd?

History of OPFOR DPM

"In March 2015, the Demonstration Battalion of infantry based on Salisbury Plain who regularly provided OpFor personnel for large exercises appeared wearing blue uniforms instead. Throughout the three days of Combined Arms Demonstrations (CAD) run at the conclusion of Exercise TRACTABLE 15, a platoon of soldiers from 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment clad in blue 4-colour DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) combat uniforms defended objectives during the blank firing phases as the Lead Armoured Task Force attacked."

"The predominantly blue/grey shades of the new OpFor uniform offered a complete contrast to the earthy and slightly verdant colours of MTP, so they were a logical choice to dress ‘enemy’ in for for rural settings. However even though these ‘Men In Blue’ usually stood out against green or dried foliage like the proverbial turd on a billiard table, in a gloomy urban setting their camouflage could work in their favour."

"On simple logistics grounds UK OpFor troops on exercises were frequently armed with SA80 assault rifles plus GPMG and Minimi machine guns, but to mimic the real-life opposition they were issued with laser simulation RPGs. Prior to 2016 the odd AK-47 assault rifle could also be found in the mix, but at the CAMD (Combined Arms Manoeuvre Day) on Salisbury Plain in the October of that year it was noticeable that AK-74 family weapons were being carried"

No smocks?

We hope to do smocks specifically in the future, however this depends on the success of this initial run.

Why wear OPFOR?

OPFOR camo's allow the user to assume any bad guy persona they want, just make it up, you're a baddie now!

Your reproduction is darker?

OPFOR DPM owned by the MoD is in constant use. It's issued out to soldiers playing opfor and collected back in, not like standard uniforms. As a result they get washed alot more and in large industrial systems. Not to mention its a 10 year old camouflage and it's not known if any were made after the first batch. As a result stuff in use by the MoD is faded significantly from it's initial shade. The image below shows the shade when it was first issued.

We can't justify the extra cost of "pre-fading" all our products and then charging more. If you want to fade yours we'd love to see the final result!

The most unique camo on the field.

Are you really nerdy? Do you love to bully mutlicam users? Do you want to have to explain your uniform every time someone sees it? OPFOR DPM will have all these qualities out the wazoo.

Due to its rarity most people will have never seen or heard of it. One of the reasons for this scarcity is the lack of surplus on the market due to the MoD very strictly collecting it in after every use. it is very difficult to find original pieces, especially in good condition!
